Your story stays yours.

In short: the Writ10 app does not collect any data. It has no account, no analytics, no ads and no network connection. Your stories are saved only in the files you choose on your Mac. We never see what you write.
Who we are
This policy covers the Writ10 app for Mac (“the app”) and the website where you are reading it (“the website”). Both are run by Writ10 (“we”, “us”). You can reach us at [email protected].
The Writ10 app
What we collect
Nothing. The app does not collect, transmit or share personal data, usage data, diagnostics or the content of your writing. It does not connect to the internet: the Mac App Store version runs in Apple’s App Sandbox without network access.
What stays on your Mac
- Your stories. Each story is a
.writ10file saved where you choose. Its version history lives inside that same file. - Safety backups. The app keeps recent backups in its own container on your Mac and removes old ones over time.
- Preferences. Settings, the list of recent stories and the story to reopen are stored in the app’s local preferences.
None of this leaves your Mac through the app. If you save stories in a folder synced by a service such as iCloud Drive or Dropbox, that service handles the files under its own privacy policy.
Deleting a story file removes it. Uninstalling the app and deleting its container removes its preferences and backups.
Purchases and Apple
Writ10 is sold through the Mac App Store. Apple handles the purchase, payment and download; we do not receive your payment details. If you have chosen in your Mac’s settings to share analytics with app developers, Apple may share anonymous crash reports and aggregated usage statistics with us. That sharing is controlled by Apple and you can turn it off at any time in System Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements. See Apple’s Privacy Policy.
The website
The website has no accounts and no signup forms. Fonts and images are served with the page.
- Analytics and ads, only with your consent. If you choose Accept in the cookie notice, the home page loads Google Analytics and Google Ads to count visits, see how the page is read and measure our ad campaigns. These tools set cookies (such as
_gaand_gcl) and Google processes the data under its own privacy policy. If you choose Decline, no Google tags load. - Changing your mind. Use Cookie settings at the bottom of the home page. Declining stops the tags and deletes their cookies. Your choice is remembered in your browser’s local storage.
- Hosting. Our hosting provider may process technical data needed to deliver the page, such as your IP address and browser type, in server logs.
This privacy page does not use analytics or cookies.
Children
Writ10 is not directed at children under 13, and the app collects no data from anyone.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example in the European Union, the United Kingdom or California), you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data about you, and to object to its use. The app holds no data about you on our side. For website data, you can withdraw consent at any time from Cookie settings, and you can contact us at [email protected] with any request. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Changes to this policy
If a future version of Writ10 adds a feature that sends data off your Mac, we will update this policy and the app’s App Store privacy details before that version is released, and explain what is sent and why. The date at the top shows the latest revision.
