Plain terms for a quiet app.
Last updated October 11, 2026
In short: you buy Writ10 once on the Mac App Store and use it under Apple’s standard license. Everything you write belongs to you. Keep your own backups.
Who we are
These terms cover the Writ10 app for Mac (“the app”) and the website where you are reading them (“the website”). Both are run by Writ10 (“we”, “us”). You can reach us at [email protected].
License to use the app
Writ10 is distributed through the Mac App Store. Your use of the app is governed by Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the “Standard EULA”), together with these terms. If anything here conflicts with the Standard EULA, the Standard EULA prevails.
Price, updates and refunds
- One-time purchase. Writ10 has no subscription. Prices are set in your local App Store currency and may include taxes; launch pricing is limited in time.
- Updates. Updates to the version you bought are free. Future major versions may be offered as optional paid upgrades; the version you own keeps working.
- Payments and refunds. Apple handles payment, billing and refunds. To ask for a refund, use Apple’s Report a Problem page.
Your writing
Everything you create with Writ10 is yours. We claim no rights to your stories, notes or exports, and the app does not send them to us. Your stories are saved in files on your Mac, so you are responsible for keeping backups of them, for example with Time Machine. The versions and safety backups inside the app help, but they do not replace a backup of your Mac.
Acceptable use
Please do not copy, resell or redistribute the app, or try to bypass its licensing, except as the Standard EULA or the law allows. The Writ10 name, logo, design and website content belong to us; the fonts included with the app and the website remain under their own licenses.
The website
The website describes Writ10 and may change as the app develops. We try to keep it accurate, but features, compatibility and prices shown there are not a promise until they appear in the app and on the App Store. How the website handles data is described in our Privacy Policy.
No warranty and limitation of liability
The app is provided as described in the Standard EULA. To the extent allowed by law, the app and the website are provided “as is”, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, including lost writing or data. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by law.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms when the app or the law changes. The date at the top shows the latest revision. If a change matters for how you use Writ10, we will say so in the app’s release notes.
